Ordering & General Questions

Are you open to the general public?

Yes! GDI Nursery is open to homeowners, contractors, landscapers, and the general public. Everyone is welcome to shop with us.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, we offer delivery for most of our products. Delivery fees vary based on distance, load size, and accessibility of the drop-off location.

Is there a minimum delivery fee?

Yes, we have a minimum delivery fee depending on your location. Please contact us for an exact quote.

Do you offer installation services?

We do offer installation services.
Installation is not included in the price of plants, palms, or materials. For an accurate estimate, please contact us for a custom quote.

Can I buy decorative rock in smaller quantities?

Yes! We offer decorative rock by the bag, by the yard, or smaller quantities depending on the product.

Product & Material Questions

How do I figure out how much rock I need?

To determine how much rock you need, measure the length × width × desired depth of the area you want to cover.
A general rule of thumb:

1 cubic yard covers approximately 100 sq ft at 2–3 inches deep.
If you need help calculating, we’re happy to assist you, just give us your measurements.

How much does a yard cover?

One cubic yard typically covers:

100 sq ft at 2 inches deep
80 sq ft at 3 inches deep

Coverage may vary slightly based on rock size and type.

How much does a bag cover?

A standard bag (0.5 cubic feet) covers approximately:

2 sq ft at a 2" depth.

Coverage can vary by product.

How much material (rock) can fit into a truck or trailer?

Capacity varies based on your vehicle, but on average:

A standard pickup truck can usually hold ½ to 1 yard of rock.
A trailer can typically hold 1–2 yards, depending on size and weight capacity.
For safety, we always follow weight limits and load responsibly.

What happens if the material doesn't fit in the truck or trailer?

If the load doesn’t fit safely:

We will adjust the quantity
Split the load
Or recommend delivery for larger orders
Your safety and the safety of your vehicle are our top priorities.

Product Appearance & Quality

The rock on the website and the rock I bought look different, why?

Our website photos and in-store samples are taken after the rock has been rinsed and dried to show the true natural color of each product.
If your rock looks dusty, muddy, or lighter/darker:

Simply rinse it after spreading
Allow it to dry completely

Once dry, it will match the sample colors shown online and in-store.

Are rocks and sands naturally mined?

Yes. All our rocks and sands are naturally mined. Because of this, colors and textures may vary slightly from load to load — this is completely normal and part of the natural beauty of the material.

Pickup, Loading & Safety

Do you help load the material into my vehicle?

Yes, we load bulk materials with our heavy equipment. For bagged products, our team will assist when possible.

Do I need to secure my load?

Yes. Customers are responsible for securing their loads before leaving our property. We recommend bringing straps, tarps, or tie-downs for safety.

Pricing & Policies

Are your prices subject to change?

Yes. Prices may vary based on availability, supply costs, and market changes. We do our best to keep our prices updated and transparent.

Do you accept returns?

Due to the nature of our products, all sales are final. Please double-check measurements and product selection before purchasing. Our team is always happy to help you choose the correct materials.
